I built this gun entirely from parts. It has a 14.5", 1:7" twist heavy barrel with a permanantly attached muzzle brake.  The upper receiver and gas tube came from Bushmaster. The barrel, handguards, front sight assembly, and muzzle brake are from Colt, and the buttstock was manufactured by FN.  The lower receiver internal parts are from Rock River Arms, and the lower receiver is from DoubleStar Corp, which is located in Winchester, KY, which happens to be the home of one of my favorite beverages, Ale-8-1. As you can see, the term, "parts gun" definitely applies to this baby!  I assembled the lower receiver in about a half hour.  I also installed the barrel myself, and it wasn't hard at all, with the proper tools.  It works flawlessly at the range, and it seems to be more accurate than my shooting skills.

On September 13, 2004, the Federal ban on so-called "assault weapons" expired, allowing me to replace the fixed buttstock with the nifty telescoping one you see in the picture. I also sent the gun to ADCO to have them restore the previously-neutered bayonet lug and remove the old permanently-attached muzzle brake and replace it with a Phantom 5C2 flash suppressor. If I can make Senator Dianne Feinstein wet her bed just once, it will all be worth it... :)
