This little gun is an M1 Carbine. I treat her with care since she's a WWII vet, born in 1944 at the Inland Motors division of GM. The gun was returned to Springfield Armory in 1952 for a complete overhaul, where it received, among other things, a new barrel and a new walnut stock. When I saw this thing at a gun show, I couldn't resist. You can't really tell it from the picture, but the gun looks like it was just made last week. There is very little wear on the finish, and the stock only has a few very minor dings in it. I also bought a reproduction bayonet, also shown in the picture, just to make it complete. This thing is great for killing tin cans. |
