This is an M16 lookalike, which I built from parts. It has a lightweight 20" 1 in 12" twist barrel with a chromed chamber. I built this rifle to celebrate the end of the idiotic Clinton Gun Ban, and it's equipped with the previously banned flash suppressor and bayonet lug. The entire upper receiver assembly is from a former military-issue M16, manufactured by Colt. The pistol grip, buttstock, receiver extension, buffer, buffer spring, and most of the lower receiver internal parts are all USGI surplus parts. The hammer and disconnecter were made by Bushmaster, and the lower receiver itself was made by Olympic Arms. I refinished nearly all the metal on the rifle with Norrell's Moly Resin finish in greyish-black. I also found some never-issued original M16 furniture to put on the rifle, so it looks brand new. The olive drab sling you see on the rifle is an early-issue M16 sling which predates the more common "silent sling." The rifle is extremely light and is about as close as I can get to a Vietnam-era M16 without shelling out the bucks for the real thing.
