The armed geek...

I, like many of my fellow professional computer geeks, have a love of things that go bang. I'm at a loss to explain this, but in my experience, there's an unusually high percentage of folks in the IT industry who love to shoot. Perhaps after spending hours working on a computer, where you never get to hear a satisfying click when a particularly difficult problem is finally solved (unless you count that old IBM keyboard), we like to foray into the world of low-tech. Whatever the root cause of this fascination, there are few things more satisfying than grabbing a rifle and making some noise. In addition, many of the guns in my collection are historical artifacts. Of particular interest to me are the military firearms from countries that were considered enemies, or at least unfriendly, when I was growing up (especially the former Soviet Union). In addition to pictures, I've tried to collect as much information as I can find about each gun.
