This gun is a CZ-82, made by Ceskoslovenska Zborjovka. It features polygonal rifling in its barrel, which causes less distortion of the bullet than traditional grooved rifling, which theoretically means more accuracy. These were adopted in 1982 to replace the CZ-52 as the standard service pistol in Czechoslovakia. It still serves as the standard sidearm in both the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic. My particular gun was made in 1988, and when I bought it in 2007, it had apparently never been fired. |
